"The après ski scene at the Hyde Away Inn is without
a doubt the area's best — not just for the Long Trail Ale,
but because the male:female ratio is blessedly even (a rarity in
ski country)."

Part of Ski History Since 1949
The original farmstead was converted by Arthur and Sewall Williams
— two of the Valley's earliest innkeepers.
"...opening New Year's Day, 1949, Ulla Lodge is ideally located
in the snow corner of New England, near the new chair lift at Mad
River Glen and the rope tow on Martin's Hill."
In the early 1970's, new owners changed the name of the business
to the Snuggery Inn with Zach's Tavern — well known for its
outrageous après ski activities and the infamous California
hot tub in the silo.
In 1987, the Inn was renovated and reopened as the Hyde Away Inn
& Restaurant. Today, the Hyde Away is owned and operated by
Margaret and Bruce Hyde.
